We are happy to announce that Frank Maier-Rigaud will be presenting his views on the recent German Federal Court of Justice (BGH) judgement in the Schlecker information exchange case in a regional meeting of the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht on March 16th 2023 in Berlin. Frank will discuss whether the Federal Court chose the wrong case to bolster damages claims, how the judgement fits into the economic literature on information exchange and what consequences flow from the judgement for the Federal Cartel Office and defendants in cartel cases in front of the authority.

We are happy to announce that Frank Maier-Rigaud will be speaking at the “Current Developments in Private Enforcement” seminar organised by Gibson Dunn on the 7th of February 2023. Frank will be part of a panel of well-known competition lawyers and in-house counsel to discuss recent legal and economic developments in private enforcement. His contribution will focus on damage quantification in abuse of dominance cases and how to deal with harm not related to price increases.

We are happy to announce that Frank Maier-Rigaud was invited to present on remedies and commitments in abuse of dominance cases at the OECD. The talk will be part of this year’s annual meeting of the Global Forum on Competition taking place from December 1st to 2nd in Paris. Frank will discuss recent experiences with remedies and commitments drawing on the German Meta/Facebook case, the French Google Ads case and the European Commission's case in Google Shopping. The talk will cover behavioral and structural remedies and how they relate to the theory of harm.
