Tilman has over two years of experience in conducting empirical work. This experience is mainly based on working with large migration, conflict, and climate datasets and includes tasks such as data cleaning, data visualization, merging datasets, and the application of econometric concepts using specialised statistical software packages. His expertise also includes the analysis of georeferenced data and econometric modelling techniques such as Difference-in-Differences analysis.
Already during his studies Tilman focused on evidence-based approaches and developed a keen interest in empirical analysis.
Part of his experience includes the collection of empirical data in Indonesia and analyses conducted for BAK Economics, a Swiss economic research institute.
Tilman has a Bachelor in Economics and Political Science and a Master in International Economics both from the University of Göttingen.
A native German speaker, he is also fluent in English.
